The Buffalo Dispersal and Milk Production is implemented by AgriCooph and COMAVEMCO. The project is an expansion to the existing operations of COMAVEMCO in Cebu, Philippines. COMAVEMCO has an ongoing contract with the Philippine government to supply milk that will be distributed as part of the school-based feeding program.

Through the FO4A Challenge Fund, it is expected that the cooperative will receive a total of 50 ready-to-breed buffalo and the first offspring will be given to COMAVEMCO to expand the operations to other members with experience in Buffalo and Milk Production. Meanwhile, the second offspring will be given to AgriCooph to expand the operations outside COMAVEMCO but within the membership of AgriCooph.

The project aims to address the concerns of an insufficient supply of milk in the province of Cebu and nearby provinces. Additionally, it seeks to provide the appropriate buffalo specifications so that members can start to fill in the gap between the demand and supply and revolve the fund to generate profit quickly.

With the support of AgriCooph, bulk purchasing of the production inputs as well as the packaging materials and processing inputs will give additional savings to the operations. There are already 11 offspring from the buffalo procured last June to July 2023.
