Papua New Guinea farmers will soon be able to network with their counterparts in the Pacific Island to share agricultural information and knowledge after PNG Women in Agricultural Development Foundation (PNGWiADF) President Maria Linibi and Jessie Abiuda Mitir of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) were invited for the first time to participate in the Pacific Island Farmers Organisation Network (PIFON) meeting in Nadi, Fiji from 28 – 30 January.
The meeting by PIFON is part of the second phase of the Medium Term Cooperation Programme (MTCP2) sponsored by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
This year MTCP2 wants PIFON to expand to other Pacific Island countries that were not part of the MTCP Phase 1.
Maria Linibi is grateful for the invitation and looks forward to registering under PIFON who will be facilitating the National Pacific Farmers Network which can also link to more women networks established in the Pacific Region. ###
