The Federation of Farmer Community Promoting Family Agriculture Enterprise in Cambodia (FAEC), in partnership with Agriculteurs Français et Développement International (AFDI), is implementing the FO4A project, funded by EU-IFAD through Agricord. This three-year project, running from 2022 to 2024, aims to support 10 cooperatives in the provinces of Svay Rieng, Battambang, Kampong Speu, and Kampong Thom, Cambodia. The project’s objective is to accompany young farmers by supporting their activities, strengthening their organizations, and enhancing the services provided by cooperatives.

As part of this initiative, FAEC has provided capacity-building training to 120 young farmers across 10 cooperatives on agroecological practices, including integrated farming, safe vegetable cultivation, chicken raising, and the use of bio-fertilizers and pesticides. Additionally, the project has focused on developing economic skills, such as business planning, marketing strategies, social media marketing, and leadership and management. These trainings have positively impacted young farmers by improving their production, sales, and negotiation skills, contributing to increased incomes.

In this video, San Davy, a member of the Ponleu Thmey Cooperative in Battambang Province and a former migrant worker, shares how her life changed after participating in the FO4A project training. She adopted new techniques that boosted both production and income and now shares her knowledge and experience with other farmers, encouraging women to engage in farming and reduce migration.
