The Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF) through the APFP-FO4A project is set to host Pakistan’s First Young Farmers Camp and Agrilympics (YFCA) at Karakoram International University Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan. This initiative will bring together 60 young farmers, Agriculture and Management Students from Punjab, KP, and Gilgit-Baltistan to enhance their skills, explore innovative agricultural techniques, and promote sustainable farming practices in the region.
Organized by ASF, this camp aims to address critical challenges faced by young farmers, including climate resilience, market access, and agribusiness development. This three-day event will provide hands-on training, expert-led sessions, and interactive discussions to empower the next generation of agripreneurs.
Why it matters
Agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy of Gilgit-Baltistan, with farming communities facing increasing challenges due to climate change, resource limitations, and market constraints. This workshop will equip young farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices, improve productivity, and establish profitable agribusinesses.
