
The consortium Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) and La Via Campesina, through the Asia-Pacific Farmers’ Program (APFP) – Support to Farmers Organizations for Asia (FO4A), is pleased to announce the APFP-FO4A Farmers’ Products Fair, which will take place from 16-18 May 2025, in Eastin Thana City Golf Resort Bangkok, Thailand.
The event aims to showcase the agricultural products produced by family farmers within the APFP-FO4A program. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore an exhibit showcasing Farmers’ Organizations (FOs) products.
The fair will feature three key activities:
- Farmers’ Products Fair – A vibrant showcase and marketplace featuring a diverse agricultural products from Farmers’ Organizations. Discover, taste, and take home the best of what our farmers have to offer!
- Dried Fruit Fiesta – A fun and flavorful mini contest featuring a variety of dried fruit products proudly produced by partner FOs. Participants will sample and vote for their favorites!
- Black Pepper Challenge – A mini contest showcasing flavorful pepper varieties produced by our partner FOs. A panel of selected judges will sample and vote for their favorites based on taste, aroma, and overall quality.
Objectives
- Showcase Family Farmers’ Products: Highlight the wide range of agricultural products grown and processed by family farmers and Farmers’ Organizations (FOs) under the APFP-FO4A program.
- Promote Farmers’ Organizations and Their Enterprises: Provide visibility and recognition to the entrepreneurial efforts of FOs in value-added production, marketing, and sustainable agriculture.
- Facilitate Market Linkages and Opportunities: Create a platform for farmers and FOs to connect with potential buyers, partners, and supporters, paving the way for new market opportunities and collaborations.
- Celebrate Product Quality Through Interactive Contests: Encourage appreciation of FO products through engaging activities such as the Dried Fruits Tasting Contest and Pepper Tasting Contest, allowing participants and judges to experience the taste and quality firsthand.
- Strengthen FO Branding and Product Recognition: Reinforce the identity and branding of FO products by showcasing them in a professionally organized and public-facing event.
- Promote Regional Exchange and Learning: Foster regional exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovations among FOs and participants from various countries.
- Gather Feedback for Product Improvement: Use insights from tasting contests and audience feedback to help FOs improve packaging, flavor profiles, and market readiness of their products.

- FARMERS’ PRODUCTS FAIR
APFP-FO4A partner Farmers’ Organizations (FOs) are invited to bring their products for display and sale at the upcoming Farmers’ Products Fair. This is a valuable opportunity to promote your products, increase visibility, and connect with potential buyers and partners.
Product Guidelines
Only non-perishable products will be accepted for exhibit and sale, including but not limited to:
- Agricultural products (e.g. coffee, tea, rice, processed fruits and vegetables, nuts, honey, spices)
- Garments and clothing
- Handicrafts
- Other FO-produced dry goods
Pre-Order System
To help participants plan purchases and facilitate smooth transactions, we are introducing a pre-selling and pre-order system for those attending the upcoming June 2025 workshop in Bangkok.

We have retained the product list from the 2024 Vietnam workshop. You may update, remove, or add new items based on your current inventory.

II. Dried Fruit Fiesta
A fun and flavorful mini contest featuring a variety of dried fruit products proudly produced by our partner Farmers’ Organizations (FOs). Participants will have the chance to sample and vote for their favorites!
We invite all FOs producing dried fruits to join the contest by bringing samples of your products for tasting.
The contest format may include:
- A game-style tasting where participants guess or rate samples, or
- A judging panel that will evaluate each product based on taste, aroma, texture, and other characteristics.
Winners will receive special tokens of recognition.

III. Black Pepper Challenge
A mini contest celebrating the bold and flavorful pepper varieties produced by our partner Farmers’ Organizations (FOs). A panel of selected judges will sample and rate each entry based on aroma, taste, appearance, and overall quality.
We invite FOs producing pepper to participate in this contest by bringing samples of your pepper products for evaluation.
Judging will be conducted by a select panel, who will assess each entry using key sensory characteristics relevant to high-quality pepper.

Let’s spice up the fair with the best of your pepper harvest!
NOTE: Please ensure that the products you bring are locally produced by your FO members/partners and not the ones that are widely commercialized or mass-market items.
Aside from farmers’ products, FOs are also welcome to bring knowledge and communication materials such as brochures, flyers, and publications for the exhibit.
We kindly request that participating FOs contribute at least one product from their organization to be given as tokens to guests and resource persons, as well as prizes for various contests and games. Please hand over your tokens to Jane Ramos of the AFA Secretariat starting on Day 1 of the activities.
