The secretary of the Coastal Farmers’ Association-CFA (COAST Trust), a participating organization in MTCP2 Bangladesh, recently received the Sher-E-Bangla Agriculture Award for his contribution to seed production and preservation at the community level.
Mr. Akhtar is the main promoter of community seed bank in Bhola district, which preserves only local seeds.
MTCP2 Bangladesh supports the seed bank and will prepare a case write up on the successful initiative for sharing with farmer organizations in the country and the region.
The good news was shared by MTCP2 Bangladesh program manager Md. Mujibul Haque Munir.
