The APFP-FO4A Knowledge Market and Farmers’ Products Fair 2024 will feature a photo contest to showcase the initiatives, activities, and achievements of APFP-FO4A partner Farmers’ Organizations and to highlight family farmers’ contributions to agricultural, economic, and social development.
With this, the consortium Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) and La Via Campesina (LVC), through the APFP-FO4A program, are calling for the submission of photos of family farmers, fishers, forest users, herders, pastoralists, and indigenous peoples, showing a variety of farming communities, your local environment, crops, and culture.
The photo/s should portray any of the following themes:
- Agroecology/Climate Resilient Agriculture
- Cooperatives and Agri-enterprises
- Rights to Natural Resources
- Women Empowerment
- Youth in Agriculture
The photo can be any of these categories:
- PORTRAIT – Photo/s featuring family farmers in action/doing agricultural work e.g. planting, seeding, harvesting, processing, marketing, cooking, landscaping in the farms, forests, gardens, etc.
- LANDSCAPE – Photos featuring farms, gardens, forests, grazing lands, etc.
What to submit
- Digital color photo in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi/inch and a capacity of 1MB to 5Mb
- Title of the photo
- Caption or detailed description of the photo (maximum of 100 words)
- A maximum of three (3) photos are allowed per organization
- Send the photo as an e-mail attachment or via applications (e.g. WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc.) to maintain the resolution
Who can join
- Farmers’ organizations/cooperatives under the APFP-FO4A program
- AFA members
REMINDERS
- Photographer/project staff must obtain consent from the person/s appearing in the photograph
- Photo must be taken by a member of the organization or project staff and does not infringe the copyright of third parties
- Include photo credit in your photo/s (can be the organization or the person who took the photo)
