First Nepal Young Farmers Camp and Agrilympics (YFCA)
21-23 July 2025
Kathmandu, Nepal

The First Nepal Young Farmers Camp and Agrilympics (YFCA) was held from 21-23 July 2025, in Kathmandu, Nepal. The event gathered young peasants and farmers from across the country to champion youth participation in agriculture and call for youth-friendly policies, including better access to profitable agri-markets.

Organized by the National Peasants Coalition APFP Nepal/ANPFa and NACCFL—national implementing agencies of the APFP-FO4A program—together with CTCF Nepal and the National Land Rights Forum (NLRF), the YFCA served as a vibrant platform for learning, sharing, and advocacy.

The event featured interactive competitions or agrilympics like the Corn Husking and Corn Kernel Dropping Contest, a Product Exhibit where young farmers proudly showcased their produce, and a Photo Contest that highlighted youth in action, agroecology, and empowerment. During the Agroecology Farm Group Drawing activity, participants visualized their vision for sustainable and climate-resilient farming systems. View more photos

The Young Farmers Camp and Agrilympics (YFCA) aims to empower rural youth by showcasing that farming can be innovative, fun, and a viable livelihood, while promoting leadership, cooperation, and sustainability through interactive competitions, skills workshops, and knowledge sharing activities.

The YFCA is made possible through the support of the APFP-FO4A program, co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and implemented by the consortium Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) and La Via Campesina (LVC).
