Agriculture is extremely vulnerable to climate change. Higher temperatures eventually reduce yields of desirable crops while encouraging weed and pest proliferation. The fishery sector is also greatly affected by climate change. Rain-fed agriculture is primarily impacted due to rainfall variability and a reduction in the number of rainy days. Climate change heavily impacts the world’s water systems through frequent flooding and droughts. Smallholder fishers and farmers in India call on our leaders to act now.
