Agroecological Practices in Fish Farming by Iradan Ltd. Agricultural Cooperative

Iradan Ltd. is an agricultural cooperative that brings together 11 leaders, each overseeing a group of farmers. In total, the cooperative supports 150 farmers, enabling efficient coordination of tasks and resources. The cooperative’s main focus is fish farming, initiated over a year ago. Spread across two hectares of land, it operates four ponds where grass carp and common carp are successfully bred.
In addition to fish farming, the cooperative cultivates apricots in the areas surrounding the ponds, providing an additional income stream for its members. Iradan Ltd. places a strong emphasis on agroecological practices, recognizing their importance in addressing climate change and promoting sustainability. These methods not only support the cooperative’s environmental goals but also contribute to the conservation of Kyrgyzstan’s natural resources.
