Our partnership with the Lao Farmer Network (LFN) in Lao PDR started in 2014, and since then, the farmers’ organization has achieved a lot of accomplishments with the support of MTCP2-AFOSP. The following are among these achievements:
- facilitating cross-learning between Lao farmers and farmers’ organizations (FO) in other counties
- FOs gaining skills on organizational management, production techniques, and marketing through various workshops and trainings conducted by LFN
- engagement of young Lao people to agriculture
- empowerment of women by teaching them new skills on agriculture so they can earn income
- promotion of commercial agriculture development
- building farmer-led partnerships with the private sector
- promotion of climate-resilient agriculture production techniques
- advocating for policy work and networking
