On 23 June 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the APFP-FO4A national implementing agency in Pakistan Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF), the Regional Farmers Cooperative Organization Baltistan, and Municipal Corporation, Skardu for the establishment of a Farmers Market.
Farmer Cooperatives of Baltistan will now have their own shops in the market located on Airport Road near General Bus Stand in Skardu. Local consumers, retailers, and traders will be able to buy farm fresh products directly from these cooperatives in bulk.
These efforts have been possible with the guidance and support from the Office of the Chief Secretary, Gilgit Baltistan, and for the facilitation of the District Administration Skardu for facilitation.
