I am Sonny Boy B. Brunia, 20 years old. I became part of the Golden Parauma Agriculture Cooperative when I became the chef of the cooperative.
l come from a clan of farmers. My father raises some chickens and pigs while working on a parcel of land planted with rice. My mother on the other hand assists my father on some farming work.
As I grew up, I thought farming is no good because what we get from the farm is only good for our family’s consumption, that is why my father decided to work as Barangay Kagawad.
When the COVID-19 pandemic happened, I set aside my dream to become a chef. Now, I am accepting agricultural work. Yes, I now belong to the labor force.
To the honorable legislators, my request is to grant the young farmers privilege to avail agricultural modernization in the form of technological advancement like having a greenhouse with drip irrigation.
