FO4A project partnered with UTHTHAMAVI to organize a regional conference parallel to the national celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2023. Approximately 600 women participated in the programme and the farmer organizations affiliated with the project were able to market their products to the larger SANASA network. The project sponsored the trade fair at which SANASA, the APFP-FO4A national implementing agency, was able to promote the SMART FARMER brand promoted by the project to support farmer cooperatives to sell their products.
In addition to the marketing opportunity, the female farmers were educated on the nutrition situation of the country and food security-related national actions that are being undertaken. Women leaders of different regions were able to meet each other and learn from each other while they were able to connect to the national Uththamavi women’s network of SANASA. (SANASA International)
