On 18 October 2022, SANASA, the national implementing agency of APFP-FO4A in Sri Lanka, organized a training for the leaders of farmers organizations and cooperatives who are attached to the 8 collective businesses under the Farmers Organizations for Asia (FO4A) (Suhuru Govi) project.
The training aims to educate the leaders about the policy and regulatory context within which they would have to operate their businesses and the challenges and way forward as smallholder farmers in the current economic crisis.
The training was held at Samanmal hotel and was attended by 50 people, representing two districts of Southern province, Hambanthota, and Mathara. Chinthaka Rajapaksa, Chaminda Paragodaaarachchi, Shantha Devapriya, Siriweera Nikathenna, and Samadanie Kiriwandeniya served as the resource persons for the training. The training was organized by Sisira Chaminda, the Enterprise Development Officer of SANASA international.
