Amporn  Praipanasampan is an indigenous woman who joined an exposure visit organized by the Assembly of the Poor (AOP), the national implementing agency of AFOSP-MTCP2 in Thailand. From the exposure visit, she learned how to make products from farm produces in the community.

“The places that I like are small factories on farms that are run by farming families. The technics for product processing are simple, easy to understand yet practical, and at low cost. I can use the knowledge in my own home and earn more income for my family and community,” she says.

In addition, Amporn says she is interested in making healthcare herbal products from the herbs in their villages using traditional medical knowledge from their tribes.

The exposure visit also gave her the opportunity to meet peasant women from other provinces. “We are happy to get to know each other and learn together. This is the experience that I cannot get from other activities,” Amporn says.
