Fisherfolk in Bangkok #8 presents “Wild Vegetables, Seafood” By Fisherfolk and friends.
🐠 Saturday-Sunday, November 4-5, 2023
⌚️10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
🐟 In front of the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre

🦀 In this event, it’s not just fishermen who have come, but also local fishermen who have brought along their friends, brothers, and sisters from the sea, the fields, the mountains, and more, to share their own home-cooked food. They’ve brought their mothers’ and fathers’ kitchen flavors, as well as the taste of ingredients and their culinary experiences. In addition to creating income from their hard work on the water, they’ve learned how to transform and sell their products. They hope to satisfy people’s hunger and leave an impression with the new dishes they’ve prepared.

At this remarkable gathering, it’s not only the fishermen who have graced us with their presence. Local fisherfolk have extended warm invitations to their sea-bound, field-working, mountain-trekking comrades and loved ones, culminating in a vibrant feast of home-cooked delights. This culinary symphony carries the flavors of their mothers’ and fathers’ kitchens, a medley of ingredients, and a wealth of culinary experiences. Beyond being a source of livelihood from their toils on the water, they’ve mastered the art of transformation and product promotion, aiming to satiate the appetites of many and etch their innovative dishes into memory.
.
🦑 They also hope that our various products will bring stories of harvesting from nature, stories of preserving and protecting the land, forests, seas, and our homes, resonating in high-rise condo refrigerators and echoing in home kitchens. They want to share and retell the lives and struggles of friends who cultivate rice, gather vegetables, and catch shrimp, crabs, and fish, which have become delicious dishes on the tables of many homes. They want every bite to create understanding among local people and city dwellers, to work together to protect the abundant food resources for future generations.
